Becoming a childbirth educator consultant is a deeply fulfilling career choice for me, driven by my passion for supporting expectant parents through one of life’s most transformative journeys. In this role, I have the privilege of empowering families with essential knowledge, enabling them to make informed decisions about pregnancy, labor, and delivery. I am committed to sharing evidence-based information, promoting healthy practices, and easing anxiety by thoroughly preparing parents for the birth process. Beyond this, I strive to positively impact maternal and infant health outcomes while fostering meaningful connections within my community. Teaching, supporting others, and making a difference bring me great joy, making a career as a childbirth educator consultant a truly rewarding path in my life.

As a prenatal & postnatal yoga guru, I grateful in helping expectant mothers prepare for a natural birth. Through gentle, tailored yoga practices, under my guidance mothers-to-be in strengthening their bodies, improving flexibility, and enhancing breathing techniques—all crucial for a smoother labor experience. My design prenatal yoga classes designed promotes relaxation and reduces stress, which can ease anxiety and pain during delivery. By focusing on mindful movement and deep breathing, I always guide pregnant women to connect with their bodies and develop confidence in their ability to give birth naturally. For sure my class designed to support healthier pregnancies and more positive birth outcomes, helping mothers approach labor with calmness and strength.

With the Sport Science Level 2 qualification under National Coaching Academy, I understand how crucial sport science is in designing safe and effective postpartum exercise programs. Sport science helps tailor workouts to support recovery, improve strength, and enhance overall well-being after childbirth. It ensures exercises are appropriate for the changing body, focusing on pelvic floor rehabilitation, core stability, and gradual progression. By applying sport science principles, new mothers can regain fitness confidently while minimizing the risk of injury and promoting long-term health.

This article is written by Nicky Wang, a mother of four and a graduate in 2004. She works as an education consultant with the Raffles Education Network in Singapore, bringing three years of experience in developing educational resources for international school networks. Nicky has also volunteered for two years with children’s learning programs at Pusat Perkembangan Aktiviti Kanak-Kanak in Kepayan, collaborating with the Society Welfare Department of Malaysia. Currently, Nicky is a volunteer as Kids Yoga teacher under Himalaya Yoga Science Society of Sabah every Saturday 2.30pm at Sri Pasupathinan, Jalan Bukit Padang , Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
